Vedam Design and RR Maritime Engineering Sign MoU to Bring European Dredging Technology to India and Strengthen Indian Shipyard Capability
Partnership to introduce Dutch CSD equipment and technology for the Indian dredging market, alongside broader technology sourcing for India’s shipbuilding sector
Netherlands, 3 September 2026 – Vedam Design, an India-based naval architecture and marine engineering consultancy, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with RR Maritime Engineering (RRME), led by Rene Retering, to bring European dredging technology into the Indian market and support India’s shipyards with technology and productivity partnerships.
The MoU combines Vedam’s engineering execution capability in India with RRME’s access to Dutch dredging equipment manufacturers and its wider European maritime network.
Scope of collaboration:
- Dredger Design, Equipment & Technology — Joint development of customised Cutter Suction Dredger (CSD) solutions for the Indian market, combined with sourcing of dredging equipment packages and technology from the Netherlands.
- Technology & OEM Partnerships for Indian Shipbuilding — Identifying and sourcing OEM technology partners to meet the needs of India’s growing complex-vessel shipbuilding programme, and supporting Indian shipyards on productivity enhancement.
