Reaching the shores of Saudi Maritime Congress Edition 2

Vedam Team attended the Second Edition of Saudi Maritime Congress, the largest gathering of maritime industry leaders in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was held on 11th and 12th March 2019, at Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Center, Riyadh, KSA. Vedam’s UAE team visited the event to get a glimpse of the future with exceptional insights into how the ambitious Vision 2030 program will transform the Saudi economy. The event also focussed on how it will impact the shipping and logistics sectors along with Vedam’s business. The team connected with leading service providers and suppliers with specialist knowledge of operating within the Saudi Arabian market to clinch business opportunities.

The Government also undertook vital measures to facilitate trade including the 24-hour customs clearance for incoming cargo. Other landmark investments included the fortification of transportation infrastructure such as the Saudi Rail-Roads Expansion, the East-to-West Land Bridge, and upgradation of Jeddah Islamic Port and Dammam Port. It also aimed to develop a foreign investment program under the aegis of the SAGIA to allow shipping agents to own and operate independently through a foreign investment license. The scheme is in line with the privatization plan that lets shipping agencies offer services only to a 100% Saudi company or those with a local investor.
